This was a great choice for a blustery day. I encountered only 2 other people as I hiked along the beach from the lower parking lot. Since no red warning flag was flying today,(apparently the navy does live fire exercises past the park, indicated with a red warning flag) I continued out through the park across the navy section and all the way up to Rocky Butte.
There I turned around and headed back, facing into the wind. I paused to explore a few little beach log forts along the way, and had to laugh at one that had a courteous, "please don't pee in here" sign on it.
