View from Boulder with Cliff
This is a nice off season walk in the woods near North Bend. It shares the trail head with the Little Si Trail. I prefer doing the loop clockwise so it is steep up and gradual down. Pleasant forest the entire way. Interesting very large boulders scattered about the forest. The unmarked but well worn Old Mt Si Trail takes off from the Boulder Garden loop near its high point and next to a sign that says Boulder Loop. There is an interesting large boulder with a nice view to the south that is on a 1/8 side trail. The trail is a well worn old road that takes off from the east side of the loop trail about 1/4 mi from the high point. It is at a second (newer) sign that also says Boulder Loop. Follow this old road 50-100 yards and turn right on a narrow well warn path to the top of the large boulder. The south edge of the boulder is a dangerous 75 foot cliff. Evidence of a recent fire appears to have burned some of the vegetation off the boulder. The trail is in excellent condition and is well cared for.
