Good trail.
Snow at 5000ft, where trail crosses small creek leaving the large basin below Tamanose Mtn. Continuous snow up largest gully on Tamanose to S. False summit. Remember, the N. end of the ridge is the summit. Good snow walks and glissades to/ from the summits of Tamanos, Barrier, and those on Governor's Ridge. Excellent skiing in Owyhigh Basin and Savant Gl. Basin. Geology in action: A 20ft tall by 20 ft wide piece of the pass above the Savant Gl. has collapsed onto the glacier. jrh
