The trail is in good
condition from Snow Lake to Gem Lake. Beyond that point, there are many windfalls and some very brushy areas just before the rock field and beyond the rocks all the way to Lower Wildcat. After successfully drying the radio out overnight after the Rock Creek farce, it got soaked again, locking the circuitry in transmit mode (no one, thankfully heard the choice language I was using in the brushy areas before I noticed since it was only locked in transmit mode, but not really transmitting until it was keyed down). The unmaintained trail to Upper Wildcat is in good condition, but somewhat hard to find if it's your first time there. The illegal fire ring and poop piles sprang up again magically since last year. Someone needs a corner clipped from their LNT card.

Red Top Lookout

Snoqualmie Pass

Whether you're camping near Cle Elum or just want a prime picnic location for a short Saturday hike, you'll only have to climb a mile on this steep, easy-to-follow trail to get stunning views from a fire lookout (and cool alpine outhouse). It can be great for kids, but keep them close on the exposed summit.
