Actually, I really
don't need to say much about going into the Enchantments other than it was perfect weather there Saturday, just gorgeous. Lots of permit holders going and coming but the reason I'm writing this is to just make a suggestion should you ever decide to be foolish enough to try and go out Toketie Creek. My son and I did this and it took us 7 hairy hours to get down. We had to camp mid way down on a rock but the fire that went through this area a couple of years ago has really made a mess of the whole descent, not easy in previous years (yes, I did it about 20 years ago)but not the fight you have for every foot you make in descent. now, thanks to fallen trees and new undergrowth. Water is scarce so make sure you have plenty with you. . We crossed the river on a couple of logs that my son thought was 'pretty cool'. Suffice it to say, cross Toketie creek off your list should it be on there. Dean
