Snow on trail

The Sol Duc Road remains closed at the Hot Springs Resort. The campground will hopefully be opened by April 30. It is uncertain if the road will be open to the trailhead at that time, it depends on how the snow removal operation goes. There is presently four feet of snow at the trailhead.

Sol Duc Falls trail is covered by two to three feet of snow which is slick in some places but generally easy to walk on. As of the report date the snow was as high as the hand rail on the Sol Duc Falls bridge, making the crossing hazardous.

Snow on the Lovers Lane Trail near Sol Duc Falls was deep and slanted on a steep angle toward the gourge, making travel difficult and hazardous. No one has apparently travelled this route recently.

Red Top Lookout

Snoqualmie Pass

Whether you're camping near Cle Elum or just want a prime picnic location for a short Saturday hike, you'll only have to climb a mile on this steep, easy-to-follow trail to get stunning views from a fire lookout (and cool alpine outhouse). It can be great for kids, but keep them close on the exposed summit.
