What a mess! This trail is in very bad shape. The talcum powder dust was knee deep on my 5 year old in places. This trail is an ORV usage trail as well and it shows. Alot has been done to keep the damage down but even the concrete curbs and lattice pads are being tore up. We encountered seven dirt bikes along the way, (all coming from the Blue Creek Area) all were very polite. One guy even pushed his bike past us to keep the dust down. Several mountain bikers as well. The first hard rain and it will be a disaster. Mad Lake was all ours! Beautiful lake, great weather. No bugs to speak of. If you have go to Mad Lake, come from the Maverick Saddle route. Jesse gave it one thumb down for bad trail, one up for the lake

Red Top Lookout

Snoqualmie Pass

Whether you're camping near Cle Elum or just want a prime picnic location for a short Saturday hike, you'll only have to climb a mile on this steep, easy-to-follow trail to get stunning views from a fire lookout (and cool alpine outhouse). It can be great for kids, but keep them close on the exposed summit.
