Forced east by poor weather, we found ourselves thinking about tucking in Big Craggy and West Craggy. The trail to Copper Glance Lake is snow-free almost to the mine (end of jeep road). There are several blowdowns. The old broken-down car bridge across the creek can be crossed carefully on foot. Then patchy with a long open spot through the glorious meadow. Once it re-enters the trees, the trail is easy to lose. We kept going though, and found ourselves camped at the head of Copper Glance Creek. The next day we scrambled the two peaks. On the descent I managed to wipe out my tailbone trying to glissade. It hurts to type this! We met a group of skiers enjoying the slopes. Back at the car we had a flat and, curiously, the car next to us had a flat. Hmmm. Very strange.
