I hiked this trail up to the ridge top. There was a tree that was covering the road to the trail head about three miles from the parking area to the trail entrance. I stopped by the ranger station in Quilcene on the way out and informed one of the rangers so I'm assuming by now that it has been cleared. I was able to drive around it with no problem.
The trail up to Tunnel Creek Shelter was in good shape. There was one blowdown that was no problem as you could walk around it. The shelter looks to be in good shape and the area around the shelter was clean of debris and trash.
The hand rail on the foot bridge crossing the creek is broken off half way across, but it wasn't an issue in terms of walking on the bridge. After crossing the bridge, the trail begins its ascent and in several places the trail was muddy. In between the bridge and Karnes Lake, there is a significant blowdown that you have to crawl under.
From Harrison Lake until you reach the ridge top, there is one more blowdown that is smaller, but I had to crawl underneath or rather duck underneath that one. As you get closer to the ridge top, the trail becomes more or less loose rocks.
Due to it being cloudy, I wasn't able to see much of the scenery that day, and it was somewhat cold.
On the way back, I passed three other hikers and a good sized family that had spent the weekend at Harrison Lake.
