There were a few false summits along the way!

What: Mt. David, 7240'

Weather: Clear with a few wispy clouds. Highs in high 70's (guessing)

Where: 12 miles southeast of Glacier Peak, north of Wenatchee Lake at the end of White River Road (access via Rts 2 and 207).

When: Sunday, July 13.

Started hiking: 10:45 a.m.

Reached summit: 3:42 p.m. Returned to car: 7:35 p.m.

Breaks: ~20 minute lunch break

15 minutes to run back to retrieve camera left at lunch spot on the descent

Would have been good to know: there is no footbridge at the White River Falls campground. Proceed to end of road where proper trailhead is to cross formidable river.

Mosquitos: Only when stopped for lunch and at end of hike when approaching car

Number of other hikers seen on trail: 0

First snow on trail: around 6000' feet, with patches off and on until summit. (Summit was free of snow)

Number of miles travelled: 14 (according to map) or 12 (according to GPS)

Temperatues: warm

Number of switchbacks before reaching ridge: 38

Number of logs that could be cleared from trail:30

In one particular area it was tricky to see your footing because it was covered with greenery (a flattish area by a creek around 3300'). It wasn't hard to get through, but I found myself going very slowly to make sure I wouldn't trip on any hidden rocks.

Some of the switchbacks are eroding away a bit, enough to make me careful about my footing.

I didn't see the outhouse (but hadn't read a trip description, so I didn't know it was there).

I didn't find the summit register (but had no idea where to look - the summit is fairly sizable) and didn't spend too much time looking.

Just a few blueberries found. Lupine, Indian paintbrush out and about.
