Flowers on Cady Ridge

We began a 3 day backpacking trip at noon starting on The Cady Creek Trail and turning onto the Cady Ridge Trail in 1/2 mile. Nothing new to add to recent trail reports on trail conditions. The EXTREME heat and EXTREME amounts of flies and mosquitoes did not detract from the AWESOMELY beautiful flowers and views from the ridge! As we approached the junction with the PCT the Cady Ridge spot fire lit up as if someone had struck a match lighting 80-100 feet trees which appeared as bright candles! Because of the nearness to the fire to the campsite at the junction, we chose to continue on to Lake Sally Ann to camp. From our campsite we could see the intermittent flareups of the fire on the ridge. The flies and mosquitoes joined us in huge numbers!
