Trails: Tuck Lake (#1376.1)
Avg Rating: 2.50

I had been warned that this place is overused, but decided to risk it.

In 40 years of hiking in the cascades I have never experienced anything

like this. Every scrap of land around Tuck lake where you could place

a bivvy bag or the tiniest of tents became occupied by sunset. You think

you have a nice little spot to yourself? Forget it. By nightfall you

will be surrounded within a few feet by others.

There is a toilet at the lake but it is unusable due to the pile rising up out of the hole. If any place needs

a permit system to limit use, this does.

The lake is beautiful and Robin Lakes are even better, but if you go there during summer you better love crowds.

Bugs: about average. Sunrise and sunset mosquitoes

Snow: only a few patches around Robin lakes.
