Snowshoeing on Silver Star
By Lauren Dawkins
Due to snow, we had to leave our car a mile or two away from the trailhead and snowshoe up to the parking lot. We began ascending the trail and went another half mile before we got an exposed area that offered a spectacular view of Mt. Hood. Unfortunately, we weren't prepared for the extreme wind and decided to turn back. The air was crisp and mild, and the mountain views were wonderful, it well worth the trip!
