Register for Hike-a-Thon, and make your miles count.

You want to get more hiking in, but can't seem to get out of town as much as you'd like? You want to get your kids into wilderness more, and need some motivation? Need to lose an extra 5 lbs? Just want to put your miles on trail to work for a great cause?

Whatever your reason, Washington Trail Association's month-long Hike-a-Thon is one of the very best ways to get out on trail this August. Here's how it works:

  1. Register to participate today!
  2. Give your friends and family a choice: they can register to hike with you or they can support your Hike-a-Thon by sponsoring your miles.
  3. Plan your month of hikes, or play it by ear. It's up to how you want to approach your Hike-a-Thon, but you can be sure that we'll help you find the hikes you want to do the most. (Maybe the prize categories will help you pick a theme for your month. Yes, there will be prizes. Oodles of prizes.)
  4. On August 1, lace up your boots and hit the trail. Hike like crazy. Hike after work. Hike the weekends. Throw your toddler on your back and get in 10 miles before noon. It doesn't matter if you're young or old, a new hiker or a mountain goat. Every single step you take will help raise money to maintain the very trails you'll be hiking. Kind of great, huh?

Last year, hikers collectively logged more than 6,000 miles and raised more than $67,000 for trails!
