Tiger Mountain. Been there. Lake Serene. Done that. Do you need ideas for where to go hiking this summer? Join WTA on June 23rd at Seattle's REI for Hike the State.
Every spring hikers dust off their gear and start making lists of what new trails they hope to explore during the summer. It's this passion for discovering new trails that has inspired WTA to host a fantastic event to kick off the summer season - Hike the State.
Heard about speed-dating? Think of Hike the State as speed-hiking. Spend seven minutes getting to know a region and then - *ding!* - off you go to a new part of Washington. Our hiking experts will give you an overview of a region’s terrain and hikes it has to offer, highlighting some of their personal favorites from the area. You will leave each of our seven regional stations with a set of awesome hike suggestions and a new appreciation of the many ecological wonders of Washington.
Regional experts will act as your guides as you visit Mount Baker in the North Cascades, then travel down the Cascades stopping off at Lake Wenatchee, the Teanaway and Mount Rainier on your way to Mount St. Helens. We’ll take you from the mossy Hood Canal area of the Olympics to the dry pines of the Colville National Forest. Plus, there will be plenty of time to chat with fellow hikers, share hiking stories, get more trail tips and maybe even find a new hiking partner this summer.
I hope you can join us June 23rd at the Seattle REI, for a fun evening of discovering new hiking trails and hidden gems statewide. The speed-hiking starts at 6pm.
This is bound to be a popular event and space is limited so please RSVP.
