Families Go HikingYakima Mixer - Family Hiking

The days are getting longer and the sun is making a regular appearance. That means that kids and parents are itching to get outside and explore the colors of spring, find puddles to jump in and listen to the birds sing.

To help families get out hiking, WTA is sponsoring several Hiking with Children Workshops over the next few months - starting this Saturday in Vancouver.

Join us at one of these workshops to learn about some great safety tips and tricks to keep little ones moving down the trail. We'll review some great books, share family hike locations and get you inspired to get outdoors. These workshops have something for families new to hiking as well as for experienced hikers.

Red Top Lookout (Jun 13)

Red Top Lookout

Snoqualmie Pass

Whether you're camping near Cle Elum or just want a prime picnic location for a short Saturday hike, you'll only have to climb a mile on this steep, easy-to-follow trail to get stunning views from a fire lookout (and cool alpine outhouse). It can be great for kids, but keep them close on the exposed summit.
