Win gear at Hike-a-Thon

Mountain Hardware's Seattle store is sponsoring Hike-a-Thon and you can win this daypack.

Have you found yourself eying new gear lately? Do you peer in the window of Mountain Hardwear or REI, wondering how you could ever afford that new Hilleberg Akto tent? Do you sometimes think that if only you could get an MSR Reactor Stove wouldn't your next backpacking trip be the best?

What if you could get new gear just by hiking? You can!

Register for WTA's 7th Annual Hike-a-Thon and you could take home those items and so much more! Hike-a-Thon is WTA's annual fundraising event and its super easy to do. Just sign up, find some friends or family members to sponsor you, and then hike like crazy in August. All proceeds go to WTA programs, like this website, trail maintenance or advocacy.

Hilleberg Akto

We have so many prizes that you'll be hard-pressed not to earn one. Raise $100 and you'll earn a box of Clif bars to keep you going on trail. Raise $500 and you'll also be sporting new Teko socks and have Outdoor Research stuff sacks to put your Clif bar wrappers and old socks in. And the prizes get even better as you raise even more.

MSR Reactor

When you start hiking in August, you'll find all sorts of great prizes for miles hiked in individual and team categories. Not expecting huge mileage or thousands of dollars? Check out the Special Award Category for prizes - best Hike-a-Thon photo, most Trip Reports, most new WTA members, most hikes with kids, most miles hiked on WTA trail work parties, and more.

Simply registering for the event, lands you a New Balance wicking tee.

So make your miles count this August by participating in WTA's Hike-a-Thon and rake in the prizes!

WTA's 7th Annual Hike-a-Thon is presented by Mountain Hardwear - Seattle Store.

South Cascades

Head to Dog Mountain for Columbia River Gorge views and an explosion of wildflowers. Eager to get in shape for summer? Head straight up the mountain on the northern side. Take the slow and steady eastern flank trail to stop and smell the flowers. (See if you can spot recent work by WTA trail crews.)
