Workplace Giving: Turn 9-5 Into Support for Trails

Posted by Loren Drummond at Oct 29, 2012 10:39 AM |
When you donate through an employer workplace giving program, like the ones at Microsoft, Boeing or any local, state or federal government office, it's kind of like you're in two places at once: in a meeting and on a mountain, typing an email and taking care of your favorite trail. When you give at work, you can feel good knowing that every moment you spend sitting at your desk is ultimately helping protect the wilderness you love.

Did you know your workplace giving program can power our work on trails?

Washington Trails Association will use your workplace gift where it is needed most: on your favorite trail, in Olympia or in Washington, D.C., or to power hiking resources like wta.org. Workplace donations enable WTA to spend less time fundraising and more time building, maintaining and protecting hiking trails—and provide nearly 10 percent of WTA's annual operating support.

Dog Mountain

South Cascades

Head to Dog Mountain for Columbia River Gorge views and an explosion of wildflowers. Eager to get in shape for summer? Head straight up the mountain on the northern side. Take the slow and steady eastern flank trail to stop and smell the flowers. (See if you can spot recent work by WTA trail crews.)
