Common Membership Questions

Answers to common questions about membership: Is my membership in Washington Trails Association tax-deductible? When will my membership be due for renewal? Where can I find my membership number? How can I ensure that my personal information is kept private? I've moved. How do I change my address so that I will continue to receive Washington Trails magazine and other member benefits? I'd like to make a stock donation to WTA. Where can I find the information on how to do that?

Do you have a question about your Washington Trails Association membership or a question about making a donation to WTA?  Check the Q & A below to see if we have covered it.

In addition, you can join, renew, make a contribution, donate monthly, and give a gift or honorary membership at any time on our secure online system.

Q.  Is my membership in Washington Trails Association tax-deductible?

A.  Yes. WTA is a 501c3 non-profit organization and your contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. You may deduct the amount of your gift to WTA that is greater than the benefits you receive. Please feel free to contact us regarding the tax deductibility of your donation at kara@wta.org

Q.  When will my membership be due for renewal?

A.  Your membership will be due for renewal twelve months after you make a membership gift. WTA will send you a renewal notice two months in advance of your expiration date. As a reminder, your magazine mailing label will list your membership expiration month. You may also renew your membership at any time that is convenient to you and WTA will advance your membership expiration date one year.

Q.  Where can I find my membership number?

A.  Your membership number is found on your magazine mailing label and on membership thank you letters.

Q.  At what age do I qualify for senior membership?

A.  There is no specific age requirement.

Q.  How can I ensure that my personal information is kept private?

A.  Your personal information will never be sold, but WTA does occasionally (no more than four times per year) trade mailing lists with organizations of a similar intent and purpose in an effort to grow our membership base. To avoid having your name and address ever traded, simply check the “do not trade my contact information” box when you join WTA or renew your WTA membership, or call this request in to our office at any time at (206) 625-1367.

Q.  I've moved or my personal information has changed. How do I make sure that I will continue to receive Washington Trails magazine and other member benefits?

A.  There are a number of ways to change your mailing address, your email, or other personal information.  You can change it online; by email to membership@wta.org; or send a postcard or note with your new contact information to the WTA office at:  2019 3rd Ave., Suite 100, Seattle, WA 98121.

Q.  How can I make a stock donation to WTA?

A.  Stock donation information is available here.
