I led my Saturday Snowshoe for the Cascadians today up the Iron Creek Road almnost to the Iron-Bear trailhead. The snow at first was consolidated & crusty, but after a couple of miles it became drier & not so consolidated. The day started out somewhat sunny, but high clouds soon moved in, though we never did get the snow showers that were predicted. There was not much snow on the trees, but it was not too cold & we had a nice walk in the mountain air.
