Hiker Potluck in Everett

Want to know more about important issues like road repairs and target shooting on the Mount Baker Snoqualmie National Forest? Like to meet fellow hikers and share stories of your favorite places to hike?

Come for good food and stay for great conversation at Washington Trails Association's next Hiker Potluck, October 21 at the Everett Public Library.

WTA hosts hiker potlucks throughout the state each year, connecting our members with land managers who oversee the trails we hike and maintain. The potlucks allow hikers to learn firsthand from land managers about the regions where they work. They also provide a time for discussion about issues hikers acre about, from trail funding to ORV use to new wilderness proposals. The result, we hope, is better policies for our trails and public lands.

Next Wednesday, land managers from the Mount Baker Snoqualmie National Forest will join us to discuss current issues including federal stimulus spending on the forest and target-shooting.

This event is open to anyone who enjoys hiking trails, meeting new people and great food. Please join us on Wednesday October 21st, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Everett Public Library, 2702 Hoyt Ave. Everett, WA.

RSVP to Kindra at kindra@wta.org, and bring your favorite dish to share!
