Membership Dues Increase

This is your last chance. After nearly 20 years, we increased our annual membership dues - our basic hiker membership increased from $35 to $40 on January 1, but you can still renew at 2009 rates through the end of the month.

Why did our dues increase?

Well for one, things cost a lot more than they did in 1990! But importantly, WTA is doing more for hikers like you - a lot more. We have 2,000 volunteers giving back 90,000 hours to maintain your favorite trails; an online Hiking Guide and more than 26,000 searchable Trip Reports; and new programs like Steps into the Wilderness for you and your family. Member dues simply have not kept pace with the cost of these services, let alone inflation.

Whether your WTA membership expires today, next month, or sometime next summer, if you renew today, we’ll extend your membership for a full year.
That’s an additional year of our beautiful member magazine, Washington Trails, along with another year of member discounts at local outdoor retailers, and another year to rest assured that your voice is heard on all things hiking.

So renew early, renew today. Renew your WTA membership online before March 1 and save!

Thank you for helping to keep Washington’s trails great places to hike for generations to come.
