Take Action for DNR Trails

The fight to save Mount Si, Rattlesnake Mountain and other DNR Recreation lands is not over yet.

We're six weeks into the legislative session, and the House and Senate have their budgets out.

Those two documents are radically different.  It is possible that HB 2480 will still pass this year, but it would have to be as part of the budget process, since it did not make it out of the Senate Natural Resources, Oceans and Recreation Committee in time.

That means that our best chance to keep Mount Si and other important DNR sites open is to restore the $278,000 cut from DNR's recreation program in the final version of both budgets. It is currently retained in the Senate budget, but not in the House budget.

******We need every hiker reading this to take action right now
and call your legislators******

Let them know that you support the Senate budget as it pertains to DNR, since it will keep critical places like Mount Si open. Call the legislative hotline at 1.800.562.6000. You can find your legislators here.
