TrailsFest 2009 Poster Design Contest
Washington Trails Association needs a poster for TrailsFest 2009 and we’re opening the design process up to any interested designer/outdoor enthusiast.
If you’ve got loads of creative energy and would like to help a non-profit out with your design skills, we’re looking for you! Creating the TrailsFest 2009 poster will not only give you a new piece for your portfolio, but also widespread acclaim and bragging rights (at least among your hiking friends)!
Last year’s design was so popular, we sold posters at the event. Let’s make that happen again!
What WTA is looking for in a TrailsFest poster:
• a focus on hiking and other forms of muscle-powered outdoor recreation
• a look that’s upbeat, inspirational, fun, outdoorsy, and bright
• a design that can be manipulated or incorporated into other print pieces, including a postcard, magazine ads and event program, as well as the event t-shirt
• a file preferably created in an Adobe Creative Suite application (otherwise, we’ll need to contact you every time we need to make an adjustment.)
If You Are Selected:
• Your beautiful creation (and your name/business name) will appear on walls across the Puget Sound metro region - coffee shops, taverns, bookstores, gear stores, libraries & more.
• You’ll get at least 5 posters to keep for your portfolio.
• WTA will give you a free 1 year of membership, including the premiums for every membership level and a TrailsFest t-shirt.
• You’ll get a sweet Revel or Reflexa jacket from Outdoor Research.
How to Enter:
• Read this blog post to get a feel for the event. Peruse the previous year’s posters (below). Feel free to call WTA with questions about the event.
• Create a digital “sketch” of your idea for the TrailsFest 2009 poster. This does not need to be a finished product but should give us an idea of where you could take this project. Your design must include "TrailsFest 2009" and the WTA logo.
• Enter by April 15, 2009. If we pick your design, we'll let you know right away, as the finalized design will be needed by May 15, 2009.
Two Ways to Submit Your Entry:
• Via email to lace@wta.org. Be sure to include all your contact info. Attach an image (less than 5 MB) to your email or direct us to your design online. (Please point us to a specific project on your website, rather than your website as a whole.)
• Pop a CD with your sketch in the mail. Be sure to include all your contact info. Address your submission to TrailsFest Poster Design, Washington Trails Association, 2019 Third Ave, Suite 100, Seattle, WA 98121.
