Pack List - Front country Youth Vacations

WTA will provide tents and sleeping pads for students on Front Country trips only. (You may bring your own, but it may not be larger than a 2-3 person tent due to space restrictions at the campsite).

  • Two to three 1-liter water bottles (Nalgene style)
  • At least two pairs of work gloves
  • Long pants and long sleeve shirts for work (Carharts or jeans work fine)
  • Spare clothes for leisure hours (bathing suit, shorts, hats, leisure shoes)
  • Towel (and/or beach towel for swimming)
  • Good hiking/work boots – well broken in
  • Any special dietary stuff/medication and/or vitamins
  • Personal hygiene items (toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, toiletries, shampoo,  moleskin for blisters, etc)
  • Rain gear (Preferably heavy-duty that can fit over top of your work clothes)
  • Sleeping bag
  • Head lamp or flash light
  • Dry warm clothes (preferably fleece or wool)
  • Insect repellent and optional mosquito netting hat (can find at Army Navy Surplus or Outdoor Research and they fit nicely over hardhats)
  • Sunscreen + sun hat + sunglasses
  • Day pack to carry lunch water, gloves and other personal items while we are working
  • Folding chair
  • Bandannas or handkerchiefs
  • Camera (optional)
  • Book or cards or other entertainment items (optional)

Do NOT Bring:

Cell phones (crew leaders will have cell phones/radios in case of emergency)
