I am a retired engineer who has been blessed with many years of hiking and skiing in the Washington Cascades, starting with a trip to the Paradise Ice Caves as a child in 1962. While most of my trips are day hikes, I do take periodic backpack trips into more remote areas. I am a seasonal volunteer for the USFS (Methow Valley Ranger District), doing trail condition reporting for visitor information and work crews.
