This trail was very well maintained -- and pretty clear of roots/rocks, etc. The first half is a steady and at times fairly steep climb, but the second half was a breeze! We could hear the creek running during most of this hike, and spring foliage was blooming -- it was a really pretty and peaceful hike. My dog found a few places to splash around and get a solid drink of fresh water. There were a few bugs buzzing around - but not too bad. Thoroughly enjoyed this hike.

Arrived at the trailhead at about 8:00am. Lots of room in the parking lot if you have the correct parking pass (National Park or Northwest Forest). Ok to park on the highway and walk in if you do not have a pass. Privy is in great shape.
I saw a few mosquitoes but not a problem yet. I expect they will be hungry in the next little while with the weather being warmer.
Flowers are out and it’s a beautiful trail. Immaculately maintained and always clean.
the trail is in amazing shape. Huge kudos to the Mount Rose Trail Maintenance Crew. Thank you!

The trail was wet from all the recent rain but not muddy. A couple of downed trees that were easy to step over. The creek was ripping! Could hear the water most of the way. Did the loop counterclockwise and went up to the viewpoint just as the clouds cleared out - 8 miles total.

Arrived about 10:30. Being Memorial Day Weekend, and there were cars parked along the road before the campground entrance, we figured the trailhead lot was full. So, we parked and walked to the trailhead, but there were still several spots left. We decided to go clockwise around the loop. It's a nice hike, but nothing too exciting for the first third of the hike. Basically, a straight trail up for the first 1.5 miles. Once we got to the Ellinor connector trail it became more interesting. Several bridges over some cool streams and creeks. We saw a few people, but being a holiday weekend, I thought we would see more. Overall, we made the full loop in a little under 2 hours, and then headed to Union for some fresh oysters and a beer. Nice way to spend the Sunday.

We arrived at the trailhead at 6am for a quick loop hike. No other cars were in the lot. Mosquitoes are emerging, but not too bad. The gate to the campground is not yet open (I believe it opens 5/15).
the trail is in excellent condition with many flowers blooming. The pit toilets are closed again, but the porta-potty at the overlook 3 miles before turning to the campground is in good condition.
