Great family hike! The trail is about 1 mile each way and is very well maintained. The stroller even made it to the end of this trail. There is a bridge with a trail where you can go down to the river along the main trail. Please do not go into the Ice Caves. There was a couple that was sitting along the cave and a large rock fell down right next to them. Remember to use caution and be safe!

Had family in town and came here for a beautiful walk in the woods. The trail is in fantastic condition and is accessible to so many people. The ice caves, although probably at their smallest in years, were still very stunning. You could hear and see countless waterfalls cascading off Big Four and into the ice caves. You could see deep crevasses and at the posterior portion of the cave it had collapsed. Looking into the ice cave itself, you could see what looked like some boulders that had fallen through. We didn't venture in but did walk off the trail closer to the caves. And of course, as always, there were a few individuals who walked straight in without second thought. Very beautiful day and surprisingly we encountered very few people.

After a disappointing (foggy) hike up Mount Dickerman, we swung by the ice caves on our drive out. The flat and nearly ADA accessible trail was nice on our sore legs, and the cloudy weather had also kept the crowds at bay. We enjoyed post-hike beverages on our walk in, and spent at least an hour lingering at the ice caves, taking far too many pictures. I've never been before, so I can't comment on the extent of the caves this year compared to others, but they were a lot of fun to check out! And of course, despite signs and common sense, we did see a couple groups walk in - right after we witnessed a huge rock crash down and despite large chunks of ice laying near the edges that had clearly broken off. People...

Trail was in excellent condition and filled with families of all types. Neat to see people getting outside.
