Normally, this is quite an easy series of hikes and trails around a beautiful park, but with the most recent windstorm, there are many many trees down, blocking the trail

Be prepared to scramble or perhaps wait until the state clears some of the trees off the trail

Nice escape into the forest. Easy loop, but scenic. Be prepared for mud and some puddles. Loads of mushrooms. Weather was clear when I started, but started to drizzle near the end, which made it especially peaceful. Look out for horse poop.

Quick walk around the Bridle Trail state park trails.    Parking at the main lot is plentiful with a Discover Pass required as per normal.  Full restrooms were still open and in good condition.  There are many options but the route today was a basic messy loop around the exterior for a total of about 4 miles.  The trails were all well maintained with no problems or blocking issues, just be ready to avoid pony doody from the equestrian park users.  Additionally, there are quite a few nettle bushes still out with their trademark sting (ouch).

Much of the forest is thick doghair replant Douglas fir, but there are a few areas, particularly towards the NE corner where the forest is more diverse with cedars, maples, alder, etc.  There is a fair bit of freeway noise from 405 in the western side of the park but diminishes significantly the farther east you get.  Not a whole bunch of wildlife out but there were a few little brown squirrels and a couple woodpeckers.  Mushrooms are starting to pop up as well.  A nice little leg stretcher if you are in the area or a nice/easy forest walk for little ones or folks looking for an easier walk.

The Trillium Trail was a perfect little walk with my little one in his jogging stroller. Some spots were super muddy, but it was a great, well-marked loop full of lovely trees. Not too much elevation either! Definitely adding this to our list of regular walks.
