Went up to Coal Creek "Falls" today, which I'm putting in quotes because the falls are actually completely dry right now due to lack of rain. Aside from the lack of water, the hike was lovely. Red Town Trailhead parking lot was less than halfway full at 10am and the trail was uncrowded today. The entire hike was shaded, and there are lots of different options for hikes in this area. We took the Cave Hole Trail to the Coal Creek Falls Trail then came back by finishing the loop via Quarry Trail. This route gets all of the elevation gain out of the way so you can enjoy flat and downhill for the rest of the way. The whole loop took less than 2 hours with our dog walking slowly at times and stopping to sniff everything along the way. My GPS tracker Gaia said we hiked 2.8 miles.

Nice stroll through the woods. We saw only a handful of people but more as it got closer to noon. My son was bothered by the smell of the sealant on the bridges though. Signs reporting bear sightings and car break-ins but no issues for us.

Nice little hike, but the falls is just a trickle. We went about 4 miles. We got there at 10 am.  Parking lot was empty. Left at 1pm on a Tuesday and the lot was full when we left.  Sorry, picture is blurry.

The trail was great! Great after work hike, not super long but enough elevation to make it interesting! However, I parked in the location provided by the WTA app and there are no signs for Coal Creek Falls, or any reference to that trail for a good half mile to mile.

Nice Hike. I suggest you take a picture of the map with your phone camera before you start your hike. There are plenty of sign boards, but a handy map always helps. Will definitely recommend the hike. Not too much elevation - very easy.
