We hiked the Big creek trail #252 up to Cora lake. The road was pretty decent with some pot holes, but nothing terrible. I was sad to see lots of litter off the road by the trail head, including dirty diapers, beer cans, and many empty shot gun shells (this is a no shooting zone). The entrance to the trail is on the left hand side of the forest rd and clearly marked. Its a pretty simple/short trek up (about a mile up,2 round trip) but you do have to cross big creek twice, I would recommend poles just for the extra stability here, but we did without. There are at least 5 campsites right by the lake that we found, and they do seem to fill up. There were two groups of campers there when we got there, but both bailed due to onset of rain, and a 3rd group going up as we left. The lake is beautiful and clear and definitely full of fish, we saw them jumping.
P.S. thanks to the folks who left our bear spray at the trail head that fell out of my partners pack, we didn't even know it was missing until we saw it there.
Thought we were hiking high rock lookout ended up walking 3 miles on the wrong trail, there was predator activity like a mofo I.e. cougar scat. tons of wild berries though. it rained its butt off but we had a blast also a lot of wild mushrooms example, chicken of the forest and chanterelles.
