Beware of: trail conditions

The campground at Fallsview isn't open so we parked outside the gate and walked in.  The day was a bit warm.  We did the short loop trail to see the falls and then the longer trail.  There were few logs down across some paths but easy to walk over. We didn't see much wildlife but heard a lot of birds.  All in all, a good hike, even it I wished it was a few degrees cooler!

Walked the loop, coming back was tiring going up the hill.  It was a very pretty hike.  Went along the Big Quilcene River.  Beautiful day.

Great day to go see the falls. This was our first time there. Great for a slower stroll with family. Suitable for a quick trail run. Well-maintained. Nice spots to stop and enjoy the different views. For first timers, when you get to the camp grounds entrance go left (not right; only campsites there). Once you get to the "one way" sign, follow it. There will be more campsites. Take a look at the map when you get to the wooden fence. Both trail heads are right there. (We misunderstood the directions on wta thinking there was a left trail closer to the park entrance. Luckily it's a short entrance so we only double-backed once).

Awesome little hike. You'll need to walk through the campground to get to the trailhead but that is a short 1/4 mile walk. The trail is somewhat steep and narrow for young children so be careful. But the views are amazing once you get down close to the river. Definitely something to see.
