Trail to the coal container is wide logging type road. If you go beyond that coal rail car it’s just constant uphill with no payoff view. Go up to the left on a deer type dirt trail to the cemetery. Not much to see here either. Only a couple of headstones were visible. Overall I’d skip this walk and look for something else. There are so many other more beautiful hikes.

My fiance and I did this hike on a cloudy Monday morning. There are a lot of potholes in the lot but there is plenty of room to safely park your vehicle near the entrance. We brought a machete based on the last trip report but didn't use it it. We didn't have any issues making it to the cemetery. It was a great day to be outside! We will be back with our daughter to do more exploring.
I created a video about our trip below! 😊

We did a brief hike suitable with our dog and kid in a kid carrier. The parking lot is large and did not have many cars at all at around 10am on a Saturday. There are many deep potholes though. The lot is private pay and offer online payment but there is no cell connectivity or envelopes to pay in cash. The trail seemed to have experienced some large storm recently as there were many downed trees and branches that we had to navigate. We made it last the mine hole but we were not able to get to the cemetery due to blockage. The whole forest at this time was mostly overgrown ivy, kudzu and blackberry bushes. It didn’t feel like a healthy forest. We went to Kanaskat-Palmer park nearby and the greenery was more beautiful.
