Went to the lake on Thursday for a picnic and to take pictures for family. We arrived around 1pm and it was pretty crowded. A lot of the picnic tables were in use, and it was great to see so many people out and enjoying the sunshine. Wildflowers are insane right now, and the trail was packed with them. We were out here a month and a half ago and it was completely different. The ants and bugs were quite annoying, so bring bug spray if you plan to hang out. We walked counter clockwise on the trail up to the bridge and ran into a few snakes, and a lot of bees (just honey bees - I think. Harmless ones). Bathroom at the trailhead was clean and well stocked (wish it had a hand sanitizing pump though).
If you're looking for wildflowers and don't want to hike for miles to see them, this is the place to go!
