Pulled into the large parking lot at 11am to find only 5 cars there. Looks like there's room for about twenty cars. Guess all the traffic on Hwy 2 was headed up to the snow at Stevens Pass. There are no facilities at the trailhead, so you might want to make a pitstop beforehand.

The trail's in really good condition... only one tree to step over, and if you miss a rock while crossing the creek, you'll likely get water in your boot. The rocks across the creek are large and easy enough to navigate, but if you're hiking with dogs, or small children, it could be a bit tricky.

The entire trail is leaf-covered and a little soft/muddy in spots, but nothing that caused a problem.

Even though this is a fairly short trail, my GPS clocked it at just over 2.6 miles, it's a really nice hike through the forest. Most of the elevation gain (about 750ft.) is in the first half of the hike, so there are parts that are steeper than I was expecting, but again, nothing too tough... just have to watch your footing in the muddy/soft spots.

When you cross the power lines near the top, the trail's not marked, but just keep going straight across to reach the viewpoint. Turning right or left will not get you there.

The views of Mt. Index, Bridal Veil Falls, Baring Mtn. and everything around are incredible and well worth the trip. And there are a couple of benches at the top where you can sit, have a snack and enjoy November in the Cascades.

Great little hike with beautiful views at the top. Large parking lot with plenty of room, and is just off a paved road, so any vehicle should work. There were a few small trees across the trail, but they shouldn't be too hard to pass. Good short hike that I would definitely recommend.

Thank you WTA for a great new trail!  Outstanding rock steps.  This is a very easy, short trail to a fantastic lookout over the Skokomish River valley.  It took us only an hour to the top and I am slow.  Almost the whole trail is well covered with yellow maple leaves that makes you think you are in OZ on the yellow brick road.

The trailhead is immediately after the railroad bridge.  There are no facilities there yet.  There are many red flags indicating distance and some brown plastic stakes where signage may soon be applied.  About a quarter mile in are three blowdowns easy to step over.  The trail climbs through a number of switchbacks until it reaches a sort of plateau. Eventually it arrives at a former utility road and just beyond is the lookout.  There is one more blowdown just before the road.

This trail is one more feature on highway two and a good substitute when the high country is unreachable.  Maybe even good for snowshoes!

Hiked this lovely trail for the first time today.  The creek at the beginning is running high, but you can skitter across on a narrow log, or using the rocks.  The leaves are just coming into full color, and the canopy keeps you pretty dry unless there's a very heavy rain.  There are a couple downed trees across the path to scramble around and a little mud in a few places.  There are also birds, pretty little waterfalls, and a fantastic view of the valley at the top.

I arrived at the trailhead around 8 AM and was the only car there. Thanks to friends of Haybrook Ridge and Snohomish County Parks for building this gem! It beat my expectations. The trail is great and you can't get lost, and has easy switchbacks to the top. I had the trail to myself, and enjoyed the amazing views at the top for about an hour in the wonderful sunshine. I even saw some wild daisies still blooming at the ridge. Confused flowers? I did see two hikers going up as I descended, but that was it. My MapMyHike clocked 3.1 miles roundtrip. I hiked Heybrook Lookout afterwards since it was so close.
