Hiked up icicle ridge snow line was past 4 miles in. Balsamroot avalanche lillies and a hodgepodge of delicate white and pink flowers are blooming along with yellow bells higher up the ridge. Sunshine and warm forest walking makes this a great trail this time of year. Nice views of Leavenworth throughout we picked up scones and coffee from the Good Mood Food which helped with our early start.

Had a great hike up to Icicle Ridge. Beautiful day in Leavenworth with perfect weather for this hike. Trails are in great shape, steep climb, especially with a wicked hangover after hanging out at the Doghaus Brewery the night before. But very much worth the hike.

This was a challenging but beautiful hike for a Sunday afternoon. The trail is pretty steep as it winds up the mountain, but clearly defined and my sneakers sufficed. The views start almost immediately and the climb to the top is well worth it. Suitable for dogs, the trail does have some wildlife including deer near the summit so keep your furry friends on leash. There are areas where the river plummets through the mountain, making for pretty oases. Overall a lovely hike. I hiked safely by myself but there were plenty others out on the trail on Sunday evening. Enjoy!

This hike was a nice moderate workout with a great payoff. The snow is completely gone and the wildflowers are just starting to bloom along the trail. We had a little rain here and there, but not bad enough to turn us around. We made it to the ridge and followed it to a viewpoint where we took a good long rest and looked down at Hwy 2, Leavenworth and the surrounding hills. As a bonus, we saw two blue jays and another brightly colored blue bird that was much smaller in size. We couldn't identify it, but it was lovely to see. We'll be keeping this hike in mind for something quick and easy to do while visiting Leavenworth.
