It was perfect day for a hike up Icicle Ridge in Leavenworth. The sun was shining, the breeze was steady and cool, the flowers were bursting forth everywhere and there were no bugs (not even ticks)! This trail is nicely built and maintained. It has a very gradual slope with lots of switchbacks. You do cross one small stream, but it's near the trailhead. After that, there is no water, but with intermittent shade from trees you get some respite from the sun. All the way to the top you have a views of the Icicle Creek valley and once you reach the top, you have a great view over the ridge and down to the Wenatchee River Valley and Highway 2. From the terminus of the ridge you can look straight down to the town of Leavenworth. The flowers were the highlight (especially the bold and beautiful balsam root), but we were also rewarded with a displaying male, grouse.

Fun little hike if you're in Levenworth. Couple minute drive from downtown Levenworth. No crowds on weekdays this time of year.

Decent quick day hike. Went on towards 4th of July Peak for another 1.5 miles but had to turn back to make it to beer & brats in town... pretty sure that was worth it given the time. For the close proximity to Leavenworth, it's a very good payoff in views for not too much gain or distance.

A beautiful day in Eastern Washington. The trail is well maintained and consists of switchbacks and incline, putting it in the intermediate category. It was a very sunny day with warm temperatures, so we did see one snake on the way up. The view from the top is beautiful! Highway 2 can be clearly seen towards the west, and Leavenworth and even a small part of Wenatchee to the east. The wild flowers were in full bloom. A very pleasant hike.

Perfect day for this hike. It is quite a bit-up & up with switchbacks up most of the way. I imagine this would be a very hot hike in the summer, most of the way up you are exposed to the sun, with spots of shade here and there. This hike had great views at the top in every direction. The only annoyance here was that my two dogs were pretty covered in ticks when we got back, and I keep finding on them after a bath and multiple brushings. So I would keep an eye out, and give your dogs a good look when you are finished.
