We only hiked the North Park on this trip. Couldn't ask for better trail conditions, but DO NOT forget the bug repellent! Beautiful views with tons of lake access throughout. Easy hike with only one real noticeable incline called Heart Attack Hill, but don't let the name fool you. While the campground seemed to be full to capacity, there was hardly anyone near the beaches or walking the trails. Weird.

We did a couple of hikes at Lake Wenatchee State Park with our 12 and 8 year old sons and two dogs. First we visited the North Park entrance and we did the Lake Loop Trail and the River Trail (I can't remember the full name for that one). At the trail head there is a really good map you can take a picture of with all of the trail labeled. This trail was in good condition and there were no trees covering the trails. The views of Lake Wenatchee and the river were amazing!
We then drove over to the South Park Entrance and we started out on the Nason Creek Nature Trail. There were downed trees covering the trail, but you can get around them. This was a very nice, easy trail.

This has been a very popular place in the summer and I wondered what it looks like in winter. However, other than a discover pass, one needs another sno-park pass (20$ for a single day). Payment can be made at the parking lot either via cash or credit card.
The trail for xc ski and snowshoe are well maintained. Other than two small trees on the snowshoe trail, which are trivial to get over with, I didn't see anything harder for a teenager. So it seems to be a very family friendly place to visit.
We did the loop for about 3 miles. The trail was almost packed. We decided to go with micro-spikes only and it seemed to be just fine. Snowshoes would made it even more trivial.
