It takes a little extra umph to put your hiking boots on when the rain is coming down. In desperate need for fresh air, I decided to head to Lord Hill, knowing that the tree canopy does a good job of slowing down the raindrops.
The trees are just starting to change colors. Still lots of green with bright yellow and red highlights in places. Usually when I'm here, I hear frogs or birds. Today it was the sound of wind and rain on the leaves. Only saw a couple people.

Lovely place to wander on a hot day. And wander I did, due to the poor signage. Never did find any of the places I was looking for on the map.
But if you don't mind random wandering, this is a lovely park. Very quiet, not too far out, nice wide smooth trails, and plenty of parking. Well worth a visit.

Fall has come to Lord Hill and it was refreshing to walk the colorful trails before the rains return. I know that more trails have been added since I was here last and signage has not caught up but it is kind of fun to wonder aimlessly and discover the little handmade signs that the locals have used before more formal and uniform ones were added. Who knows were you will end up? Despite about 15 cars in the parking lot I only saw one other person once I turned off the trail that runs from the parking lot, a biker I crossed paths with more than once. I visited the east side with English and Beaver Ponds, which seemed a bit low but I imagine they'll be full again soon with the promise of a La Niña winter.
