What a great park to roam. Lots of different trail options, and all mostly flat / easy to manage. So cool to go down to the Snohomish river and see the water coast by. Things were getting midly busy as I left at 11 am, but my 2.5 hour gallavant over the park was mostly completely solo without running into anyone else! It was a great time, close to Seattle, and I'll be back!

Beware of: trail conditions

Just a beautiful trek through lush forest, winding down towards Temple Pond, then back up towards the main trail. Some traffic, a few horses, bikes, and runners, but the path is plenty wide. Some narrow trails leading towards the river were muddy with a few blow-downs, but for the most part, clear and lovely. Can't wait to return.

I spent about 2 hours wandering around this suburban park on Sunday. I logged almost 7 miles, and didn't even touch half the available trails. For a sunny holiday, the park was pretty quiet. I encountered a few families on some of the easier trails, and one group of five horse riders on the Main Trail. As soon as I branched off onto any side trails, traffic suddenly died and I had it all to myself and the pup. I had a great time, and liked the fact that I could make it as strenuous as I liked based on which trails I took. The Pipeline Cutoff was a lot of fun, and had some interesting foliage/growth patterns. I only encountered a bit of mud nearer to the Beaver Lake trail, but nothing that a good pair of boots wouldn't handle. Overall, a great hike close to home!

We took the Main Trail to the River Trail down to the edge of the Snohomish River. Lots of flowers in bloom and the bugs weren't a nuisance... Yet! Spent most of our time on the river watching Swifts, balancing on fallen trees and skipping rocks. What a perfect day to stroll Lord Hill with good friends! ^_^
