Not the easiest to find but if you follow the directions and watch your mileage you can figure it out. No signs and gravel roads with turnoffs occasionally. The trail has no markings just a path off the road.
Overall a beautiful secluded spot with beautiful views and scenery.
Also worth checking out Wynoochee Falls a couple miles back down the road. There’s also a waterfall off the road between the two trails. It was a nice surprise.
*No cell service anywhere on our hikes so make sure you remember your way back out and directions home because you are without any service the last 45 minutes of the journey… basically once you hit the gravel roads.

Yellow Gate is closed October to April so I turned around and parked right there, and it’s only a short 50 yard walk to the trail head over a bridge. Trail was in great condition, it was a nice short hike to the falls. I stopped by Wynoochee lake on the way back to see the dam.

Road to Maidenhair was in great condition - potholes as usual - but nothing too bad until you begin traveling past the seasonal road closure, as we attempted, because we had planned to hike Wynoochee Falls. You don't need to travel past the seasonal road closure to make it to Maidenhair Falls, just thought I would point out there are many trees down and AWD or 4WD would be best if you do plan on traveling further, past the turn off to Maidenhair. Trail to Maidenhair was in wonderful condition and a very easy little walk for my 5 year old. We did not see anyone else.
