Very pleasant, easy hike featuring airy forest and river shore/beach. I would suggest:
- take a photo of the trail map at TH. The trail map was not very accurate but offered some reference. When in doubt follow orange/blue ribbon, not the pink ones, it will lead to the beach. Generally, we were walking on an overgrown 2 track road.
- The dirt road to TH must have been graded - no potholes seen.
- At this time, the river is low, there were miles of shoreline for hiking.
Out hunting terracaches in the Spokane area and traveled to the McLellan area. Lots of burnt trees, but the trails are in good condition. We were the only ones there. There are no signs into the area but thankfully we had the gps coordinates. The road into the park was filled with potholes but if you go slow you will make it.
