We are not familiar with the area, but this seems to be a popular Sunday mid day lung and leg burner. We arrived at 9 AM on an overcast morning. The road is closed to vehicles getting to the trailhead lot. Several cars are squeezed in at the gate. The climb is steep and constant for the entire 2 miles Wear a mask for Covid-19 protection! We passed many parties, going up and down. The climb is steep and constant for the entire 2 miles. We had a peak-a-boo reward when the clouds lifted for about 10 minutes at the top.

Great day on Walker! Hill repeats, starting in the dark. Epic views of the Olympics popping out of the fog! Tons of roots/rocks on decent be careful! Otherwise, trail looks great & no snow.

Great day hike that definitely gets the lungs a workout.  Almost all uphill, the view (if out) is worth it.  Downhill would suggest poles as it was slippery.

Took this lovely little trail up yesterday for a great pre-Thanksgiving workout! The road is closed but there is plenty of room to park before the gate, and then just 0.25mi to the trailhead. The trail is in great shape, no snow, mud, or obstacles. Steep enough for a great workout but not unrelenting.

Unfortunately the view was socked in at the north viewpoint, but the south viewpoint had plenty of sun and views of the sound. Really lovely day and great hike for the winter season! Will definitely come back in the spring for Rhododendron season.

Great trail, quite steep, loved the dense forest, misty at the top.

For some reason the lower gate is closed, parked there to walk up.
