We drove from Bremerton to the trail head, got there at 8:45 and started the hike at 9ish. We were the first people there and parked at trailhead. There are no parking lines so we angled our cars to maximize parking spots for any who would park after we started the hike. overall the trail is in good condition, some areas were steeper than others. We reached the first view point in 89 min and got to enjoy it for ourselves for about 30 min.

On the way up we saw a bunch of berries , looked delicious! But since we couldn’t tell if they were poisonous or not we left them alone. My friend brought her Shepard, it is doable for a pup, but pretty steep so I would recommend dogs who are comfortable with steep hikes up and down. Her paws were a bit torn up at the end, she was trying to pull and run down hill. Some parts of the trail are pretty narrow so We didn’t have much room to stand to the side and let people go uphill. We passed 4-5 groups heading down. Half wore masks the others did not.

About 3-4 different groups came to the enjoy the view from the upper parking lot. There is also a picnic table that people used to enjoy a quick bite. The main view point gave us a beautiful view of Mount Baker on the right and other smaller peaks On the left.

When we were done drinking our tea, we walked over to the second view point. The second view point is about a mile down from the first. We followed the road and headed that way. It is definitely worth the extra short walk, the views from this second point are much better! We could see the whole Puget sound, Mount Rainier, and from afar on the lower left the Seattle skyline! There were lots of clouds but we could see a few of the sky scrapers! I recommend checking it out.

We then headed back down the trail, it took us an hour to head back down and there are some parts with some loose rocks so if you have pain in your knees I recommend poles and taking it slow.

Mt Walker was a lovely hike and great workout. It was misty, so didn't get much in the way of views, but rhododendrons are still blooming. Trail was a little busy but not too bad. The viewpoint at the top is great for a snack or picnic.

This was our first trail after the corona break and oh boy, it was lot steeper than we thought it would be. The trail was full of blooming rhododendrons and the concentration increased as we went higher up.

After reaching the north viewpoint we didn't hike to south viewpoint as it was accessible by car.We couldn't see a thing from the north viewpoint because of the clouds. So we came back down and drove to both the viewpoints to try our luck once more. This time it started raining at north viewpoint and could only see Seattle & Hood canal from the south viewpoint, so we lost hope of getting any more views at all and left.

Rhododendrons are still blooming and get prettier as you go up in elevation. Busy today on the trail with the sun out..most of the trail is pretty wide so you can keep distance from people you pass or who pass you. The southern view point had clearer views. It’s a short hike but steep grade and there were a number of people were using the trail for trail running and training.
