Foggy and rainy morning with amazing shows of the rhododendron. Trail was good and only started running into people on the way out.

Guess its an open secret that Mount Walker is an excellent training mountain as it was great to see so many hikers working out with heavy packs on this well groomed, yet challenging hike.

With this perhaps being our best weather for the weekend I counted more than 30 cars parked at the trail head and along the forest road, much more than the usual activity for this mountain.

Recommend checking out both the north view point and south view point to take in views of the Cascades, the Pudget Sound, and Rainer.

Road to upper lookout is currently closed. Bathrooms at upper lookout are open but not stocked and people have left trash :( If you’re going and can take a garbage bag to clean stuff out here’s a heads-up! We decided to do the trail up and come down the road for a change of scenery. FYI the road is closer to 4 miles than 2.25 as listed in the description. While it is a more gradual grade and change of scenery please plan on this in case of inclement weather or if hitting at the end of the day. Otherwise, lovey trail.
