Completely snow free and an absolutely beautiful hike. Definitely go to both lookouts, they’re only .5 miles from each other. The north lookout is incredible for the Olympics and the south lookout overlooks the water and Mt Rainier. Wonderful to see so many folks enjoying the trail while safely social distancing.

Yesterday was my birthday. Walker is my last name, so I picked this mountain to hike. The trail is very well-maintained, snow free and no mud while it's been dry. It's steep and feels longer than 2 miles. The north viewpoint is beautiful! The Olympic range was awe-inspiring, the view out toward Baker was hazy with the lack of rain the past few days. The south view point had a beautiful view of Rainier, it was too hazy to see Saint Helens in the distance. Rather than head back to the north view point and down the trail, I returned via the road, not realizing taking this route is 3.8 miles! A nice way to add some extra distance before the gate opens.
