This is a wide/shaded and mostly flat trail with a few spots to access water, it was a great hike in the heat

Arrived around 9:30am with just a few cars in the lot. Trail is in good condition and pretty much in the shade the entire way, so a good option for a hot sunny day. Water levels were pretty low so the water crossings were either dry or low enough to cross easily. The trail up to Otter Falls has been completely re-done since I did this hike last year. It’s a really nice trail that’s easy to follow and there’s stairs down to the falls vs the previous scramble down, much improved. A couple groups of climbers making their way up the falls. Water levels were low so the falls are pretty light. A few small trees across the trail past Otter Falls on the way to Big Creek, but easy to step over. When we returned to the lot there were more cars, lot was maybe a quarter full. There is a pit toilet at the trailhead.

The road up has a few potholes but easily accessible for most cars. The trail was very well maintained and cleared of debris. Great views and lovely sounds at the falls.

This was my first time hiking this trail. I would rate it easy as opposed to moderate but I know that is generated because it is a little longer. The trail has been improved at the short section going to the falls. There is now a sign on the main trail and log stairs descending into the small lake basin at the bottom of the falls. Nice job, trail crew. A fun, easy hike.
