Yes, it's a pretty lake and you should stop for a picture. No, you should not go off the paved trail and trample the meadows. Yes, the meadow repair signs that say "don't walk here" apply to you. No, it's not ok just because other people ignore the signs. Yes, respecting trail closures will help rehabilitate the area and encourage others to do the same. No, celebrating your [insert lifestyle achievement or camera equipment purchase here] does not exempt you from having a negative impact on the area you're trampling. Yes, your pictures will be just as good from the provided viewing areas, and you will feel good knowing that the message conveyed in your pics and posts is in harmony with your actions.
The Picture Lake Trail is snow free and in great shape. Wildflowers in bloom galore!

Quick jaunt up to Artist Point and Picture Lake for a snow day look around : ) The road got a little dicey a few miles from the top, so drive carefully. There were plenty of people at the top having fun. Clouds were swirling around most of the time, but there were some beautiful glimpses too : )
