Beautiful, jungle-like hike. Started before 7am and there were a couple other hikers. Dry and easy to navigate the stone steps. Definitely steeper in parts than Rattlesnake.
As you approach the first viewpoint the trees thin and the breeze comes in, relieving some humidity. Clear views of Rainier. Short ascent to the true top, looking out over Issaquah. Didn't see any paragliders at the top, but did see one landing as I left the parking lot. Lots of folks coming up after 9am with a full parking lot.

Amazing day on the trail!
We were likely the first ones up, starting at 3:45 AM and not seeing anyone else along the way.
The trail was in great condition, with no obstacles. It’s a rocky path with a moderate incline—very manageable for regular hikers. Flashlights and headlamps worked perfectly for visibility in the dark.
We reached the mountain viewpoint just below the official summit in time for sunrise, and the views of Mount Rainier were absolutely stunning. To our surprise, there was even a small wildflower garden up there—an unexpected and beautiful touch! After taking it all in, we continued to the top.
By the time we returned to the trailhead, the parking lot was about 75% full, and we passed many more hikers making their way up.
All in all, a peaceful and rewarding hike—highly recommended for a sunrise adventure!
