Took advantage of a beautiful day to go out to the coast. Dogs are allowed on Ruby beach so that was the destination. Lots of people clustered within 400m of the trail, but we saw almost no one after walking around the first headland.
To get away from the crowds, and get some exercise you need to cross Cedar Creek. The easiest place to do so is right where the trail from the parking lot dumps you on the beach. Cross the creek, walk along it towards the ocean & then head north.
We walked for about 3mi, and the only people we saw once we got around the headland were 3 indian guys from the Hoh reservation who were driving along in their pickup looking for junk. Turned around after a snack & made it back to the trail just as the sun had set. Made for some great sunset photos.
